Multi-Family and Mixed-Use Designer

The ideal candidate is a creative architectural designer.

You thrive in a fast-paced environment producing concept site plans, building + unit plans, and building massing. You think critically and have a strong attention to detail.

You excel at managing multiple conceptual designs and clients concurrently.  You synthesize various parameters (program, site constraints, zoning) to craft a unique solution.

You will be joining a small group studio of similar designers to:

  • Establish, develop, and illustrate design concepts and present to clients
  • Confirm project designs are compliant with applicable zoning, building codes, and accessibility requirements
  • Create digital 3D models for building massing/elevation development and presentation
  • Research and specification of new materials, products, and systems with an understanding of constructability and budget constraints
  • Develop and foster trusted relationships with clients
  • Handle multiple deadlines, prioritize tasks, and successfully collaborate with in-house staff/project team, clients and consultants
  • Review work for design integrity, accuracy, clarity and quality
  • Comprehensive schematic design, including unit plan and building design

Qualifications:

  • Strong architectural design abilities
  • Creative designer and problem solver with experience in the programming, planning, and conceptual design phases of projects. Knowledge/experience in multi-family architecture is preferred.
  • Professional degree in architecture from an accredited university program
  • High proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and Sketchup modeling, rendering experience preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable building codes and standards applicable to multi-family residential design (FHA knowledge preferred)
  • Ability to multi-task and track multiple projects
  • Ability to effectively communicate design solutions to colleagues, clients, and building officials
  • Self-motivated worker with team player ethics
  • Proficiency with the Adobe Suite
  • Visual and numerical presentation skills

BIM Specialist/Project Coordinator

The ideal candidate is someone who can provide BIM leadership on projects starting at project inception through completion of construction documents.

You are someone with excellent communication skills coupled with a teamwork mindset, capable of coordinating BIM projects with our internal project teams as well as outside consultants.

You are off to a great start in your career and are looking for a new and exciting opportunity to use your BIM skills working on complex multi-family residential projects. 

You are a tech-minded individual who loves being part of the design process.  You are a self-motivated critical thinker with strong attention to detail.

You will be working with our project teams to:

  • Develop and manage Revit models for multi-family projects
  • Produce and coordinate construction drawings and details
  • Use creative thinking to refine and resolve design issues
  • Develop and foster trusted relationships with coworkers and clients
  • Lead coordination with consultants from other disciplines
  • Research appropriate materials, products and systems
  • Research code and ensure compliance

Qualifications:

  • Professional degree in architecture from an accredited university program
  • Power-user Revit modeling skills.  You know Revit backwards and forwards
  • Experience in construction document production
  • Knowledge of the design and construction process, detailing methods, and product specification methods.
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of multi-family residential architecture practice.
  • 5+ years of comprehensive BIM experience in an architectural office
  • Familiarity with multi-family residential design and detailing
  • Knowledge of building codes and standards relevant to multi-family residential projects
